What are the rules for Internet Marketing?
Internet Marketing Success has no Rules
Success on the Internet comes in every shape and size. Success has no rules. Success comes to Marketers who try hard and Marketers who do not. We have all seen overnight successes that have us baffled and others that earn our respect. What Internet Marketing theories fail to realize is that success does not discriminate; it can come to those who work hard and those who hardly work.
We are not discounting the good, sound, Internet marketing strategies. However, if we find that we are not a natural marketing genius, even though we try hard to play by the rules of Internet marketing, then we need to take a moment to examine ourselves and find evidence that we can, in fact, be a successful Internet Marketer. Success can be for anyone, even if they feel they are not an Internet marketer by nature. Many business men and women, entrepreneurs, and executives become successful with Internet Marketing regardless of their natural abilities.
One thing to remember is that many Internet Marketing professionals mislead the general public about how successful they are. Even the best marketing geniuses have their private moments of grief. Those whose livelihoods depend on being seen as great Internet Marketing geniuses, have been able to convince many of us that they are perfect all of the time, and if we do not hit a home run on our first Internet marketing campaign, then there is something wrong with us.
The nature of marketing on the Internet does not lend itself to cookie-cutter procedures. Perfection happens over time, and adjustments are made all along the way. Once an Internet marketing campaign becomes successful, then, and only then, is the Marketer seen as an “Internet Marketing Genius”.
In truth, each of us who look into Internet Marketing are given an even playing field. Marketing on the Internet, in whatever form, (search, social, media,...), start out the same, and grow into success, one page, link, and video at a time. The only mystery is that there is no mystery. A pilot, flying a commercial airliner makes minor adjustments all during the flight until arriving at the final destination.
In the past, the idea that we somehow need to be an “Internet Marketing Genius”, before we can succeed, has been pounded into us. If we learn one thing today, it should be that we can succeed the way we are. Mastering the tools, making adjustments, and monitoring the digital landscape of the Internet, are the skills needed to arrive at the final destination of successful Internet Marketing.
Professional practitioners of Internet Marketing do not accept the common rules of success. They need no assurance or validity from others. They investigate ideas, by observing the natural workings of the Internet. They investigate the Internet the way it is, and do not look for consistency among the chaos, since the inconsistency is an important element of the real world of the Internet.
If we want to be an Internet marketing genius, then we need to devote ourselves to the craft with tenacity and determination. If this is not our plan of action, then we can examine our fundamental nature as a business manager and leader, and simply leverage the skills of others for our Internet marketing needs, realizing that knowing what and how Internet Marketing is done, is far more important than struggling to accomplish the task all on our own. It is important that we try not to change ourselves and ignore our own natural talents. Having the understanding of the inner workings of Internet marketing gives us the knowledge of the potential and what can be accomplished with Internet Marketing. Knowledge is power and the genius may be in utilizing the natural marketing talents of others to put our business in the forefront.
There is no question that anyone can have success doing Internet Marketing, regardless if it is done by business owners or by Internet Marketers who have made it a profession. Either way it can be successful.
